Overview A personalized Mat Pilates session at Origin8Pilates is tailored to your body, goals, and any history of injury. Sessions focus on building core strength, improving posture, restoring muscular balance, increasing flexibility, and enhancing body awareness. Each workout uses precise cuing, hands-on feedback when appropriate, and expert progressions/regressions to ensure safety and measurable improvement.

Assessment (first session)

  • Brief movement and posture screen: standing alignment, pelvic position, spinal mobility, shoulder and hip function.

  • Discussion of goals, activity level, current pain or injury history, and exercise experience.

  • Simple core and stability tests to guide exercise selection and intensity.

Session structure (50–55 minutes)

  1. Breathing and centering (3–5 minutes)

  • Instruction in diaphragmatic breathing linked to rib and pelvic alignment.

  • Gentle mobilization to prepare the spine and shoulders.

  1. Activation and preparation (8–12 minutes)

  • Pelvic tilts, pelvic clock, marching in supine, heel slides, modified single-leg stretches.

  • Low-load activation for transverse abdominis, multifidus, glute medius and pelvic floor.

  1. Strength and control work (20–25 minutes)

  • Tailored sequence of classic and contemporary Mat Pilates exercises with precise cuing and technique correction. Examples (selected and modified to your level):

    • The Hundred (modified as needed for neck/spine support)

    • Roll Up or half roll back

    • Single Leg Circles or knee folds

    • Rolling Like a Ball (regress
