Reformer Personalised Training
A PRACTICE OF HEALTH
The Pilates Reformer was invented by Joseph Pilates during the Second World War to rehabilitate German soldiers and has since become popular with a wider fitness community. The main benefits of the Pilates reformer are that it strengthens the core, the back, the gluteals and the thighs and improves flexibility and balance in a controlled way. The reformer is useful for rehabilitation because it isolates specific muscles and muscle groups. Exercises on a reformer involve the pushing and or pulling of a carriage or platform which can be adjusted to increase or reduce resistance and or instability in a way that cannot be achieved
using mat Pilates. The reformer also allows eccentric training, that is strength training
that uses target muscles to control weight as it moves in a downward motion. This type of training can help build muscle, improve athletic performance and reduce the risk of injury. Reformer is ideal if you are looking to advance your practice.
I have the professional version of of the Align Pilates reformer and tower this is specifically designed to be a wider and longer reformer , perfect for rehabilitation even for those people who are taller or weigh more than average.
